Scotspiper's Norfolk Polo festival solo performance - 26/08/2017
This was the first time I had ever bagpiped at a polo match, and I couldn't wait to see what was in store for me. For my last three events I had been hired to bagpipe in London, so i couldn't wait to get out of the city and to pipe in the countryside air. The president of the club had hired me to bagpipe during half time in the centre of the polo pitch. I was able to watch a bit of the first half, but was then quickly whisked off to a room to warm the bagpipes up before my performance. Half time came and over the speakers they announced me onto the pitch "Ladies and Gentleman please welcome Logan Leckie our bagpiper from London." I marched to the centre of the pitch and piped away for about 15 minutes. Flower of Scotland, Highland cathedral, Sky boat song and Auld Lang Syne were a few of the tunes I played. I love bagpiping at new and different events. I thoroughly enjoyed Bagpiping at Norfolks polo festival and can't wait to be back next year!
